We are looking for children bewteen two and four years of age with a disability in order to investigate the impact Socially Assistive Robotics has on motor, communication and cognitive skills.


Why this Research Matters

We need children to test the developed system and classifier of our Socially Assistive Robot, which is the equivalent to a child receiving a typical therapy session.


What to Expect

Children will participate in playful, one-on-one interactions with the Socially Assistive Robot. Children will receive standard of care motor therapy between periods of rest while these measurements are being taken.


Study Duration

Six, 60-minute sessions on the CU Denver Auraia Campus.


Who can Participate

 2-4 years old

You may be eligible if you:

  1. Your child is between 2 and 4 years of age
  2. They have significant motor or communication disabilities/delays
  3. They can lift their arms away from the body
  4. They have not been diagnosed with blindness or deafness
  5. They are without a seizure disorder or with a well-controlled seizure disorder
  6. They have been on a stable medication regime for the past 12 weeks if they are currently taking medication
