CAP graduates have gone on to lead amazing careers in design and planning. Here are some of these superstars!
Wannasiri “Vanessa” Srivarathanabul (Master of Architecture, 1996) moved to the United States from Bangkok, Thailand with her fiancé, now husband, and fellow College of Architecture and Planning alum, Vasin Srivarathanabul, as he worked on his architecture degree at the University of Arizona. During that time, Srivarathanabul began researching architecture programs for herself and traveled to Denver to see the University of Colorado Denver’s campus.
Geoffrey Weathers (MURP ’21) is the Town of Superior’s planning and permit technician. Though Superior has a small planning staff, Weathers can get involved with large-scale projects including Marshall fire recovery efforts, the Downtown buildout, and future development proposals for affordable housing and mixed-use infill projects, in addition to his responsibilities for reviewing plans and building permits for code compliance.
Stephan Hall (M.Arch, MLA, and MUD ’12) is a Senior Associate at Anderson Mason Dale Architects (AMD). Stephan’s well-rounded training in architecture, landscape architecture, and urban design—M.Arch, MLA, and MUD received from the College of Architecture and Planning (CAP) in 2012—has propelled him to assume a lead architect role within the practice; overseeing teams on a variety of project types throughout the Rocky Mountain Region. Since joining the firm in 2012, Stephan has meaningfully contributed to some of AMD’s most high-profile public projects, including the neighborhood gateway buildings for the University of Colorado Denver downtown campus, Student Commons, and Rob and Lola Salazar Student Wellness Center.
Annelies van Vonno (MURP ’20) focused her capstone project on sustainable and community-oriented creative placemaking to reduce auto travel and improve pedestrian and bicycle access and safety near the Meow Wolf Denver site. And today, her capstone project is activated at the Colfax Viaduct.
