CAP Student James Roy II and Professor Carrie Makarewicz on CBS
Feb 10, 2021Two members of the CAP community – James Roy II and Carrie Makarewicz – were featured in a recent story about gentrification on CBS Denver. Both are part of our esteemed Master of Urban Design and Planning (MURP) program.
A Denver native, Roy is a MURP student whose research is focused on urban planning and displacement. He is the owner of Urbanity Gallery in Park Hill, and he is Executive Director of Denver Metro Community Impact – a facilitator and connector that is focused on community engagement and empowerment.
Professor Makarewicz is an impassioned scholar and planner. She conducts research in a variety of areas, including community development, affordable housing, transportation equity, and equitable public education.
