Architecture in the City Virtual Summer Camp

The Architecture in the City Virtual Summer Camp is a 3-day virtual program for high school students interested in exploring architecture and design. Students will receive an introduction to the field of architecture through a series of interactive architectural and design lessons from CU Denver’s College of Architecture and Planning faculty. Students will apply these design ideas and methods to create their own models at home.

Program Kits with sketching materials and fun CU Denver swag are included with registration. Program Kits will be mailed out the first week of June.


Registration is $160 per student, including a $50 non-refundable deposit. Payment is due at registration. Refunds less the deposit can be made before May 14th.

  • Student’s platform subscriptions
  • Additional materials needed for project, which may include scissors, glue, tape, cardboard scraps

Space is limited to 27 students; register early to guarantee your spot. Once the camp is full, students may still be added to the waitlist and will be notified if a spot opens up. If you start registering and receive a notification the camp is full, please email to be added to the waitlist.  


Two scholarships are available to cover the full cost of registration: one scholarship for a Colorado resident, and one scholarship for a non-resident. Students will be selected based on financial need. To apply, please send an email to with the following information:

  • Indicate whether you are a DACA or ASSET student, or if you would be a First Generation college student
  • In 300 words or less, please describe your background and financial need and how you will benefit from attending the Architecture in the City Virtual Camp.

Scholarship Deadline: May 17, 2021
All applicants will be notified of their award status by May 20, 2021.
