On Sunday, September 23, 2018, the WTS Colorado Student Chapter hosted a Clean Up of Cherry Creek Trail for both students and professionals. Twelve volunteers covered one mile of the Cherry Creek Trail in Downtown Denver near Speer Boulevard and Colfax Avenue. Over the course of the morning, the volunteer team picked up twenty bags of trash. The event served as a great way for students and professionals to network and socialize, but even more rewarding was the opportunity for volunteers to witness how grateful trail users were for the team’s efforts.
The WTS Colorado Student Chapter includes students in Engineering, Planning, and other transportation-related fields from the University of Colorado – Denver and Metro State University. It’s mission is to provide students opportunities to engage with like-minded students and professionals in the transportation field through networking, educational and social events, community service projects, and other activities related to transportation careers.
