The City of Cheyenne is facing a housing crisis on par with that of the Front Range in Colorado. With a $90-million investment from the federal government to upgrade adjacent F.E. Warren Air Force Base, it is anticipated that 2,000 jobs will be added to the local economy. It is believed based on various studies and analyses completed that the city is approximately 5,000 housing units short of what it needs for its current population. In a city where renters face significant cost burdens and a difficult path towards home ownership, the city is looking to identify barriers to housing and act upon recommendations to address them.
