Rethinking the CCC Camp at Red Rocks

Date: Spring 2025
A view of the muster area and ramps throughout the site.
Student Researchers: Paloma Fernandez Faculty Advisor: Tony Mazzeo

In this project I sought to rethink the circulation between existing barracks at the CCC Camp. The site itself is quite steep so making the site accessible toall was a priority of mine for this project. Some other key goals include keeping existing buildings while enhancing historic spaces like the muster circle, where camp members would gather before heading off to work in the mornings. I also sought to create a new, relatively flat, space towards the bottom ofthe site where folks could gather and play or celebrate an event. The result is a reimagined site that creates space for new users like students, summer camps, and celebrations.
