Meeker Heritage Cultural Center

Date: 3/1/2015 - 9/1/2016
Principal Researchers:

Location: Meeker, CO

This project was an exploration into the reuse of space, but that space was once a mortuary. The building had been purchased by the Historical Society with the desire to create a center for cultural tourism for the region. Architecture students investigated the existing building and took that information along with a program and presented options for better space use and updating ADA requirements to make the building fully functional again.

The buildings location was ideal being directly adjacent to the museums and so supporting functions would benefit from this building becoming the heritage center. The county and historical society will use the report and graphics to pursue grants by numerous agencies.
