Priyanka deSouzaan Assistant Professor in the Department of Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Colorado Denver where she probes different ways of understanding air pollution and its effects.
Priyanka graduated with a Bachelor and Master of Technology (with a minor in Physics) from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay in 2013. Afterward, she read for an MSc in Environmental Change and Management (2014) at the School of Geography and Environment, and completed an MBA (2015) at the Said Business School at the University of Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar.
After graduating from Oxford, Priyanka worked at the Science Division at UN Environment in Nairobi (2015-2016). She joined the Senseable City Lab at MIT full-time as a Research Fellow (2016-2017) and also worked part-time as a Drawdown Fellow. She earned her PhD in the Department of Urban Studies and Planning at MIT between September 2017through June 2021
Since, 2017, Priyanka has been a member of Dr Ralph Kahn's group at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. She was a visiting researcher at the Global Center for Clean Air Research at the University of Surrey in the summer of 2018 and was a visiting student at the Harvard School of Public Health between 2018 and 2021. Priyanka also worked as a consultant for the World Health Organization from January through September 2021 (Curricular Practical Training).
