Alex Roestenburg

Lecturer
  • College of Architecture and Planning

Alex graduated from CU Denver with both his Master of Architecture and Master of Urban Design degree in the summer of 2023 and is currently studying for his architecture license. During his graduate education, he served as an Etkin Student Scholar with the Urban Land Institute and was a member of the Chancellor’s Council on Innovation during his work on the Speer Boulevard Innovation District studio project. His summer internship work in Colorado has included warehouses in Commerce City and the Denver International Airport Concourse Expansion project. Most recently, his Urban Design capstone project involved the creation of strategies to help with the revitalization of Downtown Denver post COVID-19.

Originally from Salt Lake City, UT, Alex developed his passion for architecture at a young age with the fascination of how buildings and their spaces are utilized by their inhabitants. Only recently has that area of interest grown to include urban design by studying and understanding that architecture, landscape, and planning can all work together to create cities and developments that are suited for all types of people and lifestyles.
