Nancy Locke

Nancy Locke is an urban designer and landscape architect with a focus on the public realm. She is a Senior Principal and the North American Discipline leader for Landscape Architecture at Stantec, where she leads integrated teams in creating resilient, community-focused places that balance environmental stewardship with economic and social value. Nancy strives to advance nature-based solutions, climate resilience, and sustainable development strategies. She is known for her collaborative leadership style, strategic thinking, and ability to guide complex projects from vision through implementation. She has worked across multiple geographies including North America, Asia, the Middle East and South America, preparing and implementing district scale development plans in cities including Denver, Seattle, Dubai, and Riyadh. She received her BA in American Literature at Middlebury College and her MLA from Cornell University. As an educator, Nancy teaches studios and technical courses in both Urban Design and Landscape Architecture, as well as participating in academic support roles including the NSF funded Solutions for Climate Change and Affordable Housing in Urban Settings, the Advisory Council at Colorado State University, and the Urban Design Advisory Council at the University of Colorado, Denver.
