Sprout Joy Children's Garden

Date: January 2024 - May 2024
Rendering of an entrance to a garden with kids playing.
Student Researchers: Michelle Lazarz Faculty Advisor: Hillary Quarles

Vision:

We envision a world in which the indoor generation shifts outdoors, children grow connected to the natural environment through play, and learn the mind-body connection to the food they grow and consume, improving long term health outcomes.

Mission:

Our mission is to empower children to grow through play, and learn that getting your hands dirty is a good thing! As an early childhood development program, SPROUT JOY Garden is dedicated to social-emotional learning, outdoor activity, and most importantly, play. By exposing children to the wonders of the natural world in a hands-on play garden setting, we aim to foster self confidence, healthy relationships to food and physical activity, and build friendships.
