CAP adopted guidelines to ensure that all academic and administrative policies and guidelines are consistently developed and reviewed prior to implementation. If you are drafting a new policy or revising an existing policy, refer to CAP Policy and Guideline Documents for the Microsoft Word templates and review procedures.
The University of Colorado Policy Framework and Hierarchy illustrates that all policies and procedures must adhere to provisions provided in parent policies. If a discrepancy exists between existing policies, the policy of the highest authority prevails (e.g., a CAP policy provision cannot contradict a CU System policy requirement).
