When researching the context and history behind Bessemer, Colorado, it became evident that the steel mill had largely impacted Bessemer’s community on a human level, as well as an environmental level.
Designing a center to consider the environmental and sociological impacts of how a company’s presence can impact a place became extremely important. This building was designed to consider these issues, by providing photographic, printed media sources as well as an outdoor space that embraces a green environment and brings the life of nature back.
Featuring various photographers who want to share a narrative regarding environmental and social change, this space serves as a voice for change. Through physical book publications featuring photography, the community can come together and learn about important issues that impact the community.
