Kristen Stray-Gundersen's two great passions in life are cross-country skiing and design. After college, Kristen became a coach for skiers of all levels, from beginners to national-level junior racers. In her coaching, she focused on technical mastery of skiing, the science of ski waxing, and the art of cheering for my athletes. In teaching architecture, she offers the same guidance in technical mastery of visual communication and conceptual development, the science of building, and the art of mentoring students.

Kristen gained valuable experience in shaping urban environments in her time working for the City of Portland, Maine, where she conducted studies of urban improvement and development. Her architectural work, thus far, has included high-rise residential, hospitality, and office design. These project types aim to create highly curated design-centric environments, which make them lots of fun. Throughout her life, Kristen has worked on small-scale residential projects that celebrate the joy and function of daily life.
