Maria Pelaez Naranjo

Maria Paulina Pelaez recently earned her master’s in architecture from the University of Virginia, after becoming an architect in Medellin, Colombia. With diverse experience in architectural and landscape firms, her work and research have focused on urban design and the connection between nature and mental health. Maria has worked on residential projects in Washington, D.C., and developed independent projects like Fotosintesis. Teaching has been central to her path, she has taught at Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana, University of Virginia and she is now teaching Studio 01 at CU Denver. Maria enjoys traveling, painting, photography, and playing Ultimate Frisbee outside of 

architecture.
