Nikolas Mäkelä

Nikolas Mäkelä was born and raised in Denver, Colorado; also a citizen in Canada and Finland, he has lived in both countries for various extended periods of time. He received his M.Arch from CU Denver where he graduated with a 4.0 and honors and as a graduate of Colorado Building Workshop’s design build program. His undergraduate degree is in philosophy and English literature from the University of British Columbia, which served as a foundation for his love of theory in architectural design. Nik has a passion for craft and construction in physical models stemming from childhood miniature wargames and currently works as a freelance model builder, artist, and designer. In his free time, you can usually catch him bouldering, hiking, playing Dungeons and Dragons, or playing video games.
