Sterling, CO: Police Station

Render of external facade of the Sterling, CO police station,

Fall 2024

The UTAP team was asked by the town of Sterling to create a plan to convert the current National Guard armory into a new police precinct building. This team worked together with the town manager, chief of police, and police precinct to make a design that meets functional requirements and enhances community engagement.

This approach aims to create a precinct that enhances the operational efficiency of the police force and serves as a hub for community interaction, encouraging open dialogue and collaboration between the police and the citizens of Sterling. The improved public-facing lobby will serve as a vital interface between the precinct and the community, allowing officers to engage more effectively with residents.
