Matthew Shea is a Clinical Teaching Assistant Professor of Architecture in the area of Architectural Design, where he teaches graduate courses in Architectural Visualization and Architectural Design Studios. 

His scholarship is situated at the intersection of Architectural Design Pedagogy and the material culture of architectural production. His scholarship focuses on effect of the interrelationship between culture and the artifacts and systems of architectural production.

Currently he is also an Associate Chair of the Department of Architecture. He holds both a Master of Architecture and a Master of Art in Philosophy. He is a recipient of the AIA Henry Adams Medal and the Alpha Rho Chi Medal.
