Brian Dale, AIA, is co-founder and Director of Sort Studio, a multidisciplinary art and architecture firm that creates innovative and engaging spaces. Sort Studio explores the human relationship with the natural and built environment through work that challenges conceived boundaries between art and architecture.

His interest in designing systems rather than objects is influential in his parametric approach to design. His approach to form and context was honed over nine years spent at Zaha Hadid Architects as an Associate leading projects in Cambodia, Saudi Arabia, Slovakia, Azerbaijan, Spain and Turkey. It was there that he developed an approach applied across all scales from installations through architecture and urbanism.

Brian holds a Masters of Architecture and Urbanism from the Architectural Association’s Design Research Lab and a Bachelors of Environmental Design with Special Honors from the University of Colorado Boulder. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects and a registered Architect in the State of Colorado.
