Portfolio Support

Applying for positions or advanced degrees in a design-related field requires that you do more than simply present your experience and skill set; you are typically asked to provide examples of your creative work, through a portfolio. We recommend that you utilize CAP’s resources in the following order:

  1. Attend a workshop: Portfolio workshops are offered throughout the year by the Director of Professional Development to help you organize your creative work. Please consult the CAP Calendar for dates.
  2. Get Peer Feedback: Student organizations host peer review sessions to get early feedback on your portfolio.
  3. Participate in Portfolio Night: During January, CAP hosts an Annual Portfolio Night with the practice community to help you gain valuable feedback from individuals within the field.

CAP Professional Development Workshops

CAP regularly hosts workshops designed to help you best successfully transition to the world of practice. Consult the CAP Calendar to find workshops on topics such as: resumes, cover letters, networking, successful interviewing, presentation skills, leveraging LinkedIn, how to launch a job search and many others.
